Thank you for visiting the Henderson JH website! We are excited to have the 2019-20 school year underway! We are focused on providing engaging and empowering learning opportunities for our students utilizing proven instructional practices, capitalizing on technology, and fostering students' interests. Here at Henderson, our vision is that everyone in the campus community is "Actively Learning. Purposefully Leading. [and] Defining our Legacy."
One of our initiatives for this year is the implementation of the Capturing Kids' Hearts framework to ensure that each student knows that they are valued and a community of learners is built within each classroom. We devote time each day to sustained silent reading and reflection, and put emphasis on academic writing and speaking across the curriculum. As iChampions, we will seek to ASK important questions, ACQUIRE existing knowledge, APPLY what we have learned, ADVERTISE our new understanding or solution, and AUGMENT the body of knowledge - a cycle that can be applied to any subject and involves the skills necessary for a 21st Century Learner.
We look forward to interacting with all of our campus community throughout the year in order to form a stronger coalition for the success of our students!
